Rallycross Background

Dave first started off his Rallycross career in 1997, competing in a Peugeot 205, which he had built out of bent and broken parts. He entered  into his first Round which took place at Croft Circuit. As he crossed the finish line of his first ever final, the front strut collapsed on the little Peugeot but this do not stop Dave taking his first ever A final victory.

He won his first ever championship  in  1999 in the Peugeot 205 and went on to win numerous Championships after this.

In 2004, competing now in a Vauxhall Nova, Dave became out of action for 10 weeks after a big crash in the Easter time at an event that took place at Lydden Hill. After making a full recovery and re building his little Nova Dave more than bounced back into action only to take the Championship win in that same year.

For 2005 Dave built a Peugeot 206 Mi16 Turbo Rwd, he finished 2nd overall in the then ‘Modified’ category.

In 2006 and 2007 he continued to shower himself with success competing in the Lotus concurring both championship wins both years. Dave became the first ever driver to win a Super Final in a two wheel drive car in 2007 at the 40th Rallycross anniversary competing in his Lotus Exige at Lydden Hill.

Dave returned back to the Rallycross scene in 2010, after taking a short break, competing in the Suzuki Swift Championship which was a brand new championship at that time.  Obviously forgetting nothing about  car control and racecraft that he had learnt over the years Dave went on to become 2 time champion in years 2010 and 2011.

The British Rallycross Championship in 2015 saw Dave competing in various championships, he competed selected events in one of two of his Lotus Exige’s and also in the RX150 Championship.

2016 saw Dave fulfill an ambition to compete in the Supercar category using the ex-Dermot Carnegie championship winning Fiesta 4×4 he purchased ahead of the season start, Dave went on to finish a highly commendable 4th overall while constantly developing the Fiesta to suit his driving style.

2017 – Dave is taking a sabbatical and may compete in some selected events, his Fiesta Supercar is available for hire. He will be supporting and spotting for Paige and Drew throughout the season.
